MINNEAPOLIS—Hennepin County District Court officials say they’ll have extended court hours during the Republican National Convention.

The convention is happening September 1-4 in St. Paul, which is in Ramsey County. But Hennepin County court officials expect they’ll be busy as well with incidents in Minneapolis.

Hennepin District Court Chief Judge James Swenson says officials are clearing court calendars starting on August 27th so they’ll be able to quickly process any convention-related cases. They’ll hold court sessions over the weekend and on Labor Day, September 1—which is normally a court holiday.

Ramsey County previously announced that it would also have extended court hours during the convention.
