King Soopers and City Market stores have recalled a variety of frozen ground beef products that may be tainted with potentially deadly E. coli bacteria after the Nebraska packing plant that produced the meat expanded its own recall to 6.6 million pounds.

Recalled are Kroger 73 percent lean patties in 3- and 6-pound packages; Kroger 73 percent 6-pound lean beef family pack; and Kroger 85 percent lean 2 1/2-pound sirloin patties. All have a “sell by” date of Nov. 6.
