Ermakova said her sport gets a bad rap.
“It’s important people understand how (much) hard work it is. People should actually be put under the water and try to do what we do,” he said. “What we are talking about is work, work, work, no slacking off, ever.”
Ermakova, 25, began the sport at age 5, growing up in Moscow. She has been partnered with Davydova, 25, since 1988, and they have dominated the European circuit the past six years.
They won Olympic gold in Athens, and now have repeated, as a modern-day synchro dynasty.
“No one serves up a gold medal on a silver platter,” Ermakova said.
