Activist group Recreate 68 invited thousands of people to come to a free Public Enemy concert at Civic Center park next week, but the rappers had not committed to the performance.
On Thursday, management for Public Enemy said there was no plan to perform a concert on Tuesday during Recreate 68’s protests in the park.
Public Enemy frontman Chuck D and turntable artist DJ Lord are coming to Denver for the Democratic National Convention, but they are going to perform at two different events not related to Recreate 68’s protest.
“While they are grateful to be invited, Public Enemy will not be performing at the Recreate 68 event on Tuesday,” said an e-mail from Dan Lugo from Public Enemy’s management company, BTN Eastlink.
