The campaign for John McCain expects to launch a new television ad today meant to fan flames of discontent among supporters of Hillary Rodham Clinton.

According to sources inside the McCain campaign, the ad, called “Passed Over,” will air in Colorado and other battleground states. Using clips of Clinton during the primary race, the ad suggests that Barack Obama didn’t pick Clinton as his running mate because she criticized his lack of experience and his association with convicted land developer Tony Rezko.

“She won millions of votes but isn’t on the ticket,” the ad says. “Why? For speaking the truth on his plans. . . . The truth hurt, and Obama didn’t like it.”
