CLEVELAND — Cleveland-Cliffs Inc., the iron- ore producer that agreed to buy Alpha Natural Resources Inc., said U.S. regulators have given antitrust approval to the proposed transaction.
The Federal Trade Commission granted the companies early termination of the waiting period under the Hart- Scott-Rodino Act, Cleveland- Cliffs said Monday. The deal still needs shareholder approval of both companies.
