After rejecting an offer to play a free show at Civic Center on behalf of the protest group Re-create 68, rap group Public Enemy has made its already scheduled show in Boulder a free event.

After Re-create 68 organizers announced that Public Enemy would play Tuesday in Civic Center, the band’s management announced that a misunderstanding had occurred and that it would not happen.

The band, already scheduled to play at Boulder Theater on Wednesday night, said they would try to arrange a show in conjunction with the DNC. The result: Turning the Boulder event into a free one.

The show is open to all people 16 and up with ID. Tickets for the 1,000-seat theater will be available on a first-come basis.
