Toasty temperatures will usher in the second day of the Democratic National Convention in Denver.

The National Weather Service has forecast a high near 89 degrees, with a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m.

Although this morning’s revised forecast projects slightly lower temperatures, newcomers to the metro area are still strongly advised to drink plenty of water and protect themselves from the sun.

Tonight, expect isolated thunderstorms and lows in the mid 50s.

The rest of the week will be clearer and sunnier, as the chance of rain subsides and temps hover in the 80s.

Wednesday’s high will reach a balmy 80 degrees, Thursday’s high will climb to 86, and Friday’s high will settle at 83 degrees.

The weekend forecast shows plenty of sunshine and warmth.

The weather service anticipates an 88-degree high for Saturday, dipping slightly to 86 on Sunday.

Overnight lows between tonight and Sunday night will hang in the mid 50s.
