JP Morgan Chase hosted a luncheon at the Denver Art Museum Tuesday to honor five Democratic female governors. Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm was unable to attend, but below are some comments from the four who did.

Gov. Janet Napolitano – Arizona

Napolitano talked about how polls show 40 percent of Arizona voters support Republican candidate John McCain for president, 30 percent supported Barak Obama and 30 percent were undecided.

“I bet you Obama doesn’t have 30 percent of voters undecided in Illinois.”

Gov. Ruth Ann Minner – Delaware

Minner touted the foreign policy experience of vice presidential nominee and Delaware Sen. Joseph Biden, and described him as “just a good guy.”

“Joe Biden is the most qualified person to serve as vice president.”

Gov. Kathleen Sebelius – Kansas

Sebelius, one of four women chairing the convention, was supposed to gavel the close of the convention Monday night, but things didn’t go as planned.

“There was only one small problem, there was no gavel.”

Gov. Chris Gregoire – Washington

Gregoire won the governor’s seat in Washington state by 133 votes after three recounts. She urged listeners to get out the vote.

“There is nobody in America who understands better than I do that every single vote counts.”
