Elbra Wedgeworth, one of the Denver boosters who played a key role in winning the bid to host the Democratic National Convention, has been picked to be one of the speakers at Barack Obama’s acceptance speech at Invesco Field at Mile High. The former Denver city councilwoman pushed for the convention in the earliest days and organized events and gatherings to sell Denver to the Democrats. “I was very humbled and very proud to be able to do that on behalf of the host committee,” Wedgeworth said Wednesday.
