“Barack Obama could have made that speech were he alive in 1972,” Sen. Joe Biden, refering to his first acceptance speech, told the Pennsylvania delegates before correcting himself this morning. “He was alive. He was alive. By the way, if I hear one more time that he was 11 when I went to the Senate, I’m going to smack somebody.”
Biden is fond of pointing out that while there are only four senators with more seniority, there are 44 who are older than he is.
The 44 includes GOP presidential candidate John McCain.
