A state trooper was chasing a Dodge pickup when its driver, Brian C. Radford, 23, of Boulder ran a red light and hit four other vehicles in Boulder County Wednesday.

Troopers had information that Radford, a wanted felon, was armed and dangerous, according to a statement.

The crash happened at 95th Street and Niwot Road about 6 p.m.

Radford, who had several warrants for his arrest, sustained minor injuries and was transported to Longmont United Hospital.

Several of the drivers and passengers in the other vehicles, including a 9-month-old child, received minor injuries. Chalae N.Cartledge, 33, of Lafayette suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to St. Anthony Central Hospital.

In addition to previous arrest warrants, Radford is charged with criminal impersonation, vehicular assault, vehicular eluding, reckless driving and careless driving and driving with a suspended licence.
