There was still a party going on in Denver, well after the DNC closed shop.

LoDo was packed in the early morning Friday. Restaurants that normally close as soon as the clock hits double digits were still slamming drinks and dinner well after midnight.

Rioja on Larimer Square was busy. Earl’s on the 16th Street Mall was booming. Every table was full at the Ship’s Tavern in the Brown Palace at 1 a.m.

The official parties went on after the DNC as well.

Angela Bassett came out to hear Will.i.am perform live downtown. She was dancing up a storm.

At one of the night’s biggest parties, the Google-sponsored fete at EXDO entertainment center, it was a strange and busy mix. Throughout the night: Madeline Albright, Chevy Chase, Anderson Cooper, Nancy Pelosi, John Kerry, Mickey Hart and Matthew Modine.

Denver was represented, too, thanks to Mayor John Hickenlooper.
