Citizen’s 20th Anniversary Aqualand Eco-Drive watch does everything a diver could want except supply the underwater scenery. Waterproof to 200 meters (about 660 feet), the dual digital/analog watch measures the current depth in digital to 300 feet, displays the current and lowest water temperature and dive duration, has an auto-start dive mode and can keep a dive log record for up to 20 dives. Electro-luminescent backlighting boosts low-light visability. The neatest feature, though, is the permanent battery. A solar cell converts natural or artificial light to energy, recharging the battery outdoors or in. You never need to change the battery and risk compromising the waterproof casing. The watch has a 180-day power reserve and a low-battery indicator. It has a slew of other functions — three alarms, a world clock for 42 cities and 29 time zones, and dual time zone displays. It comes with a black or bright-orange rubber strap and accents. Citizen 20th Anniversary Aqualand Eco-Drive Dive watch (JV0030) lists for $600, but is available for less online.
