DENVER—The daughter of former Gov. Bill Owens is headed for the Republican National Convention—this time as a delegate.
Monica Owens remembers going to previous GOP conventions with her father, a two-term Republican who stepped down in 2006 because of term limits. This time, she’ll take a seat on the convention floor at St. Paul, Minn.
The GOP convention starts Monday.
Owens began campaigning to be a delegate after spending some time at the White House working for Vice President Dick Cheney. She says she supports presumptive Republican presidential nominee John McCain because she sees national security as the biggest issue and he has the experience.
