Westbound Interstate 70 was closed down late Wednesday after a head-on collision near the Vasquez Boulevard exit.
At 11:15 p.m., the highway was being shut down between Colorado Boulevard and Brighton Boulevard.
A car heading east in the westbound lanes collided with at least three oncoming cars.
As many as six people were being taken to hospitals, according to initial reports, and two people were critically injured.
