GOLDEN — Ten people have applied for the Jefferson County school board vacancy created by the Aug. 21 resignation of Vince Chowdhury.
Submitting applications by Wednesday’s deadline were: Jamie Adler Rodriguez, Larry Eigel, Mary Everson, Tina Francone, Spencer Larkin, Paula Noonan, Charles Marquez, Alonzo Rodriguez, Richard Rush and Susan Setteanni.
Chowdhury resigned after he pleaded guilty in July to misdemeanor assault for a June 17 incident in which he slapped his teenage daughter.
Candidates will go through an interview process. By law, the board must appoint a successor within 60 days, which is Oct. 20. The appointee will fill the remainder of Chowdhury’s term, which expires in November 2009.
