AURORA — A shooting early this morning at Windsor Court apartments left one man dead, authorities say.
The shooting happened at about 3 a.m. in the 1500 block of Joliet Street, police said.
Witnesses told police that at least two shots were fired.
The victim has not been identified. He’s a young man likely in his late teens or early 20s.
He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police do not yet have a suspect in the case.
The origin of the shots and the circumstances that led up to them are still under investigation, and police aren’t talking about their leads.
“Police know what the victim was doing in the parking lot, but we’re not going into that publicly at this point,” said Aurora police Detective Bob Friel.
Investigators interviewed about a dozen witnesses and collected evidence at the scene.
