BOULDER — A Broomfield man has been sentenced to 18 months in jail for assaulting another man because he is Hispanic.
Twenty-old Abraham Paquet pleaded guilty to harassment in the attack in March outside a Boulder convenience store. Police say Paquet and companion Joshua Ruzek called Ivan Ponce De Leon-Najera a derogatory name and asked, “Why are you stealing our jobs?”
Ruzek was sentenced in May to 18 months in jail.
