The two men killed in small plane crash near Baxter Pass in northwest Colorado have been identified as Charles Landry, 60, of Houston, and Steven Bartlett, 50, of Green River, Wyo.

Kristin Clifford, deputy coroner for the Garfield County Coroner’s Office, said that Landry is believed to have been the pilot and Bartlett a passenger.

Authorities began investigating a reported crash about 3 p.m. Sunday after receiving a call from a witness who saw the plane go down.

Searchers from Mesa and Garfield Counties searched for the plane which was located near Four Road in western Garfield County about 6 p.m.
