DENVER—Denver International Airport officials say passenger traffic exceeded more than 5 million in July, the first time that has happened and the highest mark ever in a month at the airport.

Officials say the mark is also the 19th straight month a monthly passenger record has been set at DIA.

Aviation manager Kim Day passenger traffic is expected to level out during the rest of the year as airlines reduce capacity to offset high fuel costs.
