July was the busiest month ever at DIA, the airport reported today.
Some 5,000,505 passengers passed through Denver International Airport in July, topping June’s record of 4,829,829 people, the airport said in a news release.
It was the 19th-consecutive month in which passenger traffic at the airport set a record.
Last July, the airport saw 4,821,082 passengers, so DIA is 3.7 percent above last year’s numbers.
“We are encouraged that our passenger numbers continue to be above last year, but the monthly percentage of increase is beginning to drop a little,” Aviation Manager Kim Day said in a statement. “That’s in line with our expectation that passenger numbers will level out during the rest of the year as airlines reduce capacity to help offset high fuel costs.”
