BOULDER, Colo.—A man rescued from a house fire over the weekend remained in critical condition with burns covering 40 percent of his body.
A Boulder Fire Department spokeswoman says 51-year-old John Dietz was found on his living room floor Sunday. Neighbors told firefighters Dietz was at work but crews stepped up their rescue efforts after noticing a television was on in the bedroom.
Dietz was at the burn unit at University of Colorado Hospital, Anschutz Medical Campus.
The cause of the fire hasn’t been released, but fire department spokeswoman Sarah Huntley said it doesn’t appear to be suspicious.
