A man suspected of robbing a series of Walgreens pharmacies along the Front Range was arrested early Sunday during a police stakeout of a Walgreens store in Highlands Ranch.
The man arrested at Highlands Ranch Parkway and Broadway is believed to have committed early morning robberies of Walgreens Pharmacies in Littleton, Parker, Castle Rock, Highlands Ranch and Colorado Springs, according to Cocha Heyden, spokeswoman for the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
According to Heyden, members of both the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department’s pattern crime and special investigations units were conducting surveillance on the Walgreens Pharmacy in Highlands Ranch when about 5:20 a.m. Sunday a vehicle pulled into the vicinity.
The driver matched the description of the robber in the earlier holdups.
After conducting a traffic stop, the suspect, a man in his late 30s, was taken into custody and transported to the Douglas County Detention Facility.
He is currently being held for investigation of aggravated robbery, theft and menacing.
Heyden said that because there is an on-going investigation involving many agencies, the man’s name and mugshot are not being released.
