PUEBLO, Colo.—The Federal Aviation Administration and the Air Force are investigating the cause of a plane crash that occurred as an instructor pilot and trainee were practicing tough-and-go landings in Pueblo.
The two-seat single-engine Diamond DA20 owned by Doss Aviation went down shortly before noon Monday near Pueblo Memorial Airport.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Allen Kenitzer says there was substantial damage to the plane and the two people on board suffered serious injuries. One was airlifted to an area hospital, and the other was taken by ambulance to a separate hospital.
Their names and conditions have not been released.
The Air Force contracts with Doss Aviation to screen new officers and train them in basic aviation skills.
