Getting your player ready...

In the spotlight.

Featured will be two of Colorado’s top players. Legacy defensive end Nick Kasa, also seeing time on offense at tackle, is a recruit in demand nationally, a 6-foot-7, 255-pound mobile terror. The Lobos’ Jake Stewart, left, a wide receiver, is a skilled, fast and experienced three-sport star who has committed verbally to Stanford (baseball).

Key matchup.

The most interesting segments should involve the Legacy defense against Rocky Mountain’s offense. While giving up only 20 points in two games, Legacy can thank the Kasa-led front wall. More will be required against the Lobos, whose skill also includes senior quarterback Bryan Peters, off to a blistering start with six TD passes and two rushing.

Straight from Legacy coach Wayne Voorhees.

“Obviously, (the Lobos) have a very good offense and we have to be good tacklers and take care of their air assault.”

Straight from Rocky Mountain coach Mark Brook.

“(The Lightning) have some fabulous athletes who play hard and they’re very stout up front.”
