LAS VEGAS, N.M.—A 57-year-old Colorado man is dead after an Amtrak passenger train struck his pickup truck as he tried to cross the tracks in a rural area of northern New Mexico.
State police have identified the man as Fred Stark of Denver.
The collision, which happened Thursday afternoon just north of Las Vegas, is still under investigation.
Police say no injuries were reported by the passengers aboard the westbound train, which was headed to Los Angeles.
