Getting your player ready...
German fans of Madonna apparently rocked out this past week, enough so to cancel a German soccer game. Friday’s Bundesliga match between Eintracht Frankfurt and Karlsruhe was postponed because of damage to the pitch caused by the concert. The match was to have taken place at Frankfurt’s Commerz- bank-Arena stadium, but the German Football League said the grass had been too badly damaged by fans who watched the pop diva Tuesday. Stadium officials replaced part of the turf, but there still remained too many irregularities. After inspecting the pitch, DFL head Holger Hieronymus decided that the “physical safety of the players could not be assured.” AFP
