A vehicle plunged 75 feet down a mountainside in Teller County on Monday morning, injuring a juvenile driver who was cut out of the wreckage.

The driver, who was not identified and whose condition was unknown, was flown by helicopter to Penrose St. Francis Medical Center in Colorado Springs, said Trooper David Hall, a Colorado State Patrol spokesman.

Hall said authorities received a call about the accident about 5:30 a.m.

Two other juveniles in the vehicle walked away from the crash and were able to summon help, Hall said.

The crash happened in a remote area of Teller County on a non-paved section of Old Stage Road, Hall said, about 14 miles west of where the pavement on the road ends.
