FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Larimer County’s 5-year-old fairgrounds is now attracting about 2,200 events a year, and a $62 million hotel and conference center is under construction on the site’s south side.

The $68 million fairgrounds, known as the Ranch, is along Interstate 25 between Loveland and Fort Collins. It includes the $26 million, 7,200-seat Budweiser Events Center, home of the Colorado Eagles of the Central Hockey League.

A 263-room Embassy Suites Hotel and conference center is expected to open in the spring.

Marc Engemoen, Larimer County public works director, says the site’s master plan calls for several more buildings on the 243-acre site, but the county doesn’t have the money for expansion.
