Red Wings vice president Steve Yzerman was apparently amused over an erroneous text message sent to fans last week claiming he was coming out of retirement in November. Fans who signed up to receive text messages from Red Wings Mobile News received what appeared to be breaking news that Yzerman was going to play again. However, team spokesman John Hahn explained in an e-mail that Textopoly, the company that sends out the messages, was running a test “and inadvertently activated a message that was created only for test purposes.” Detroit Free Press
