LINCOLN, Neb.—Nebraska coach Bo Pelini said the team’s bye week came at a good time.
Pelini says the team is “nicked up at a couple of spots.”
The Cornhuskers took to the practice field Thursday, and Pelini said they focused on the fundamentals.
They also held a 30-minute scrimmage featuring younger players.
One highlight: Senior quarterback Beau Davis lined up at wide receiver and caught a pass across the middle from quarterback Jim Ebke, drawing loud cheers from players.
Nebraska returns to its regular game-week routine on Sunday as it prepares for Virginia Tech. The Huskers and Hokies square off at 7 p.m. Sept. 27 in an ABC regionally televised game.
