WASHINGTON — Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is meeting with President Bush this week for talks on Mideast peace despite fading hopes for a deal this year.
Abbas will be at the White House on Thursday. The leaders of India and Lebanon will also see Bush in the Oval Office that day, the president’s first day back from international meetings in New York around the annual United Nations General Assembly gathering.
