The University of Colorado women’s soccer team sprinted to three goals in the second half Sunday, turning a 1-1 score at intermission into a 4-1 victory over Fresno State at Prentup Field in Boulder.

Colorado, which got a goal from four players, won its seventh consecutive game.

Nikki Keller’s goal in the 53rd minute broke a 1-1 tie and proved the game-winner. Fresno State (2-6-0) tied the game in the 43rd minute on Ali Sill’s goal.

The Buffs also received goals from Gianna DeSaverio, Michelle Wenino and Alex Cousins.

“I think once we got the first goal in the second half, the momentum shifted and that was a key factor for us today,” Wenino said.

CU (7-1-1) is off to its second best start in team history. The Buffaloes play their Big 12 Conference home opener Friday against Oklahoma and host Oklahoma State on Sunday.

DU blanks Gonzaga.

Bria Beardsley, a freshman midfielder, scored a second game-winning goal in as many games, leading the University of Denver women’s soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Gonzaga in Boulder.

Beardsley’s goal in the seventh minute held up for Denver (7-1-1). Mackenzie Snyder and Cadie Crean combined for the shutout in goal for the Pioneers.

Purdue holds off CC.

The Purdue women’s soccer team jumped out to a two-goal lead in the first half and held on for a 2-1 victory over Colorado College at the Varsity Soccer Complex in West Lafayette, Ind.

Kelly LaVoie scored for the Tigers (6-2-1) after she redirected Molly Uyenishi’s free kick in the 86th minute.

AFA sweeps Army, Navy.

Steven Noller scored his second goal in as many games and freshman Zach Brinlee got his first career tally, leading the Air Force men’s soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Army in Birmingham, Ala.

The win earned the Falcons (2-5) the Armed Forces Classic title. They beat Navy 1-0 on Friday.
