Rescue workers have reached a climber who fell 40 feet after a bolt his line was fastened to gave way. Rescuers will transport him to a hospital by ambulance.
The climber, who hasn’t been identified, fell in the South Platte River Cathedral Spires area. He has non-life-threatening injuries, said Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Jim Shires.
The climber’s line was hooked to the bolt by a carabiner. “His climbing partner told us that he had carabiners in bolts and one of the bolts gave way,” Shires said.
