A van hit a school bus in Adams County this morning, and the van rolled, but there were no reported injuries.

The accident happened at about 7 a.m. at the intersection of East 120th Avenue and Peoria Street, said Capt. Mike Schuppe of the Greater Brighton Fire Protection District.

Twenty-eight students from Prairie View Middle School were on the school bus. None were injured, Schuppe said. Another bus was sent to take the children to school.

The school bus was heading north on Peoria when the driver of the van, which was heading west on 120th Avenue, ran a red light, said Sgt. Wayne Granger of the Commerce City Police Department.

The van clipped the front end of the bus and rolled, Granger said. The driver of the van, the only person in it, also was not injured.

The accident remains under police investigation.
