CANON CITY, Colo.—An autopsy has confirmed that an inmate found dead at the Fremont County Detention Center over the weekend committed suicide.
The body of 18-year-old Michael Daniel Lee Booth was discovered in the jail kitchen Sunday morning.
Sheriff’s spokeswoman Andrea Cooper says Booth hanged himself. He died of asphyxiation.
He had been working for about a month as a kitchen trustee at the jail.
Booth was serving time for burglary.
The sheriff’s office is investigating his death.
