When a UPS envelope arrived at a Crested Butte home last week, the resident tore it open before noticing it was sent to the wrong address. The contents? Fifty-five grams of cocaine, according to Crested Butte Marshal’s Department.

Authorities got a search warrant for the address on the envelope and found small amounts of cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, scales and plastic bags at the home of David Bryson, 38, said Chief Marshal Tom Martin.

The misdelivered package had a street value of about $4,400, Martin said.

Martin would not identify the sender, who is part of an ongoing investigation, he said.

Bryson faces a battery of drug charges.
