LINCOLN, Neb.—Tom Osborne apparently isn’t done coaching football.
Nebraska quarterback Joe Ganz said Tuesday the coaching icon-turned-athletic director has lent his knowledge of the triple-option offense to the Cornhuskers’ staff this season. The option was the staple of Osborne’s offenses in the 1980s and ’90s.
Ganz’s running ability has been featured in the first three games this season. He’s averaging 6.2 yards per carry, which is best on the team for backs with more than five carries.
Ganz says Osborne has visited with coaches about the option and helped install plays.
