We wrote last week with respect to reports by Department of the Interior Inspector General Earl E. Devaney detailing abuses within the Minerals Management Service, which collects royalties from oil and gas leases on federal government land. We wanted to bring to your attention the attached article from Sunday’s Denver Post, highlighting a possible sexual assault uncovered in the Inspector General’s investigation. Along with responding to our previous inquiries, please let us know what steps if any were taken to refer this alleged sexual assault to state or local law enforcement or refer the matter for federal criminal prosecution.
