FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Forestry experts say mountain pine beetles have been found in Cheyenne and in cities around northern Colorado.

Wyoming State Forester Bill Crapser says a lot of pine trees around Cheyenne are getting hit by the beetles.

Earlier this month, the beetles were reported in pine trees in Fort Collins, Colo. On Tuesday Colorado State University and the Colorado State said trees in Boulder, Greeley, Loveland, Berthoud and Windsor have also been infested.

Experts believe that the tiny insects may have been brought in by infested firewood and by strong winds.
