A motorist was shot early this morning in east Denver when the car he was in was fired upon by someone in another vehicle.
The victim, who has not been identified, was taken to University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora. Details on his condition were not available.
The shooting happened at about 1 a.m. at the intersection of East 51st Avenue and Peoria Street, Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson said.
People in each car got into some type of “confrontation” before the shooting, Jackson said.
The driver of the car hit by gunfire drove to East 55th Avenue and Yost Court, where someone called 911 for help, Jackson said.
The suspect car is described as a black Ford Taurus. It had about four to six people in it, both men and women, Jackson said.
It was last seen heading north on Peoria Street and then west on East 56th Avenue.
Police have not issued a description of the suspects.
