DENVER—A police officer who shot and killed a Labrador retriever earlier this month won’t face charges.
Prosecutors reviewed the actions of Denver Police Officer Michael Felsoci, who shot and killed-the 2-year-old dog Rocky after Rocky lunged at him.
The dog’s owner said the Sept. 8 shooting was not justified. And a witness disputed Felsoci’s account of the shooting, saying he chased Rocky down.
The Denver district attorney’s office declined to file charges. Investigators noted that Rocky earlier had attacked a man in the neighborhood, which prompted an emergency call to police and animal control.
