UNLV at Colorado State, noon, Saturday, MTN

For the record: Nevada-Las Vegas is 3-2 overall and 0-1 in the MWC.

Streaking: Wide receiver Casey Flair has at least one catch in 40 consecutive games, the second-longest active streak in the nation. One more would tie a school record.

Who’s hot: Omar Clayton posted the second 300-yard passing game of his career for the Rebels. He had a streak of 173 passes without an interception broken against Nevada.

Who’s not: UNLV’s defense. A week after going into overtime despite a 21-0 lead over Iowa State, the Rebels gave up 444 yards rushing to Nevada, the most since an Air Force game 12 years ago.

Key stat: The Rebels are 15-for-15 in the red zone, with 12 touchdowns and three field goals.

FYI: CSU has won five straight against UNLV, the only MWC school the Rams haven’t lost to in the last five seasons. After going into overtime for back-to-back wins over Arizona State and Iowa State, UNLV lost 49-27 to rival Nevada, whose quarterback, Colin Kaepernick, ran and passed for five touchdowns and 416 total yards.

Injuries: CSU cornerback Brandon Owens (ankle) missed the game at Cal, and replacement Gerard Thomas had a solid performance with seven tackles. No new injuries for the Rams were reported.

Coachspeak: “None of us can change the outcome (of the Rams’ 42-7 loss at Cal), so what is important now is that we get back to work next week and do everything that we can do within our power to play well against UNLV.” — CSU coach Steve Fairchild
