A mere 54 players had 100-plus whiffs in 2000, which climbed to 74 in 2006. The combination of 369 strikeouts of Arizona’s Mark Reynolds (204) and Chris Young (165) were the most all time by two players on the same team, breaking a mark Jose Hernandez (185) and Richie Sexson (178) set with Milwaukee in 2001.
