A man was arrested in Denver this morning in connection with what officials say is a mobile meth lab.

A restaurant in the 2600 block of West Alameda Avenue called police at 9:49 a.m., Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson said.

Officers responded to South Federal Boulevard, at West Gill Place and West Exposition Avenue.

They found the male suspect, who has not been identified, on the street with chemicals on his person and in a backpack, Jackson said. A hazmat crew responded and is investigating.

North-bound Federal Boulevard was closed in the area about 10:30 a.m.; the road is expected to reopen at 1 p.m.
