Eaton police have identified the man who killed himself after assaulting his estranged wife Sunday,
Scott Mackey, 33, had gone to his former home on Cedar Avenue to collect his possessions during a pending divorce, police said.
The couple began to fight, and his wife was assaulted but escaped, police said.
When police arrived at the home about noon, they heard a gunshot inside and later found Mackey dead on his basement floor.
