LINCOLN, Neb.—Nebraska’s fall archery hunting season for turkeys is under way.
The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission says the season begins Wednesday and runs through Nov. 14. It starts up again Nov. 24 and runs through Dec. 31.
Fall turkey hunting regulations have remained the same from last year, allowing for two permits per hunter and two birds per permit. Those permits may be two archery, two shotgun or one of each.
There are plenty of turkeys to hunt in Nebraska, too. The commission says the state’s turkey population has increased 400 percent since 2002.
The shotgun season for turkeys opens Oct. 11.
