AMERICAN RED CROSS MILE HIGH CHAPTER: Named Charley Shimanski chief executive. The president and CEO of the Colorado Nonprofit Association will join the Red Cross in November.

THE KNEE SOCIETY: Elected Dr. Douglas Dennis, medical director of the Porter Center for Joint Replacement, as the 2008-09 president. Dennis will preside over the 2008 Knee Society Interim Meeting on Thursday and Friday at the JW Marriott Cherry Creek to discuss the latest research in knee replacement.

ASSOCIATION OF CERTIFIED FRAUD EXAMINERS: Wanda Bynum, a manager in BKD LLP’s Colorado office, has earned the Certified Fraud Examiner designation.
