A woman accused of mistreating horses and other animals at her Fort Collins rescue operation was sentenced to four years of probation and 200 hours of community service today after agreeing to plead guilty to a misdemeanor count of animal cruelty.

Alesha Matchett, 42, reached the deal with prosecutors in August to admit to a single count of animal cruelty, rather than the four counts she was originally charged with after authorities seized dozens of underfed animals at her ranch in three raids from December 2007 to last February.

The seized animals include included horses, ponies, donkeys, five llamas, five pygmy goats and one pot-bellied pig.
